		<Abstract>This article is an attempt to find the gap between architectural and sociological theories about the modern urban space and its weaknesses in Iran. Writers have tried to show that architectural theories tend to use a narrative language, which cannot be used to find the differences between modern and traditional urban spaces. As a conclusion, according to some architectural theories, historical sociology and its explanational abilities can fill this gap, and suggest reliable models to theorize the historical trend of urban space modernization in Iran.As a conclusion, according to some architectural theories, historical sociology and its explanational abilities can fill this gap, and suggest reliable models to theorize the historical trend of urban space modernization in Iran.</Abstract>
