This article discusses the concept of khon-bori or khon-bas, a method of conflict resolution in the case of blood feuds among the Bakhtiaris of Izeh. Khon-bori or khon-bas exists among other Lors as well as other ethnic groups such Arabs and Baluch (under different names). Our research, employing a set of qualitative methodologies, indicates that despite the existence of formal judicial channels in Izeh, many families still prefer to employ khon-bas to resolve their conflicts.
