Abstract
Stigma as a fictitious phenomenon dependent on time and place, is an archly social pressure which a society closed by a dominant culture creates and attaches those who violate the common norms by a society. Paying too much attention to the role of marriage in our society, for the identity of women results in placing those girls who trespass the desired marriage age in the society at the expose of stigma due to bachelorhood. The present study, with the objective of penetration within the world of girls of 30 and upper years old and accessing to pure and tangible reality of their lived experiences in a phenomenological method, pursues the investigation in the concept of stigma due to bachelorhood. Accordingly, using the Snowball method, the single girls of 30 and upper years old living in Yazd and Isfahan were interviewed in-depth. The findings of the present study indicate that the heavy presence of stigma due to bachelorhood in individuals' lived experiences can be investigated.Others' heavy gazes, unnecessary pathos,chronic curiosity,families' rebukes,feelings of being a burden,undue flaw and inappropriate epithets, poisonous sneers and cruel sarcasm are among the issues on which, in the present study, stigma focuses and which present perceived stigma from the society in the bachelorhood experiences of girls of 30 and upper years old.
